Dr. Ze Zhou Wang delivered an invited seminar at the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Wang discussed how data from over 20,000 geotechnical boreholes in Singapore was used to develop machine-learning architecture to reconstruct subsurface stratigraphy. Additionally, the developed framework can handle new geotechnical data and allows for explicit 1D to 3D modeling, uncertainty quantification, and visualization. The software also has the potential to be used in applications such as tunneling, geothermal applications, and assessing geo-hazards.
